Watashi no Mimi wa Roba no Mimi (私の耳はロバの耳)

Watashi no Mimi wa Roba no Mimi (私の耳はロバの耳) is a studio album by pioneering Japanese folk musician Takashi Nishioka. The title playfully references the King Midas folktale, translating to "My Ears Are Donkey's Ears." A key figure in the late 1960s and 1970s Japanese underground folk movement, Nishioka led the legendary group Itsutsu no Akai Fūsen (Five Red Balloons). This album showcases his distinctive contemplative acoustic storytelling, delivering intimate folk narratives that defined an era of Japanese music.
