Guru Guru's debut album stands as a landmark of early Krautrock experimentation. Opening with the aptly titled "Stone In," the band delivers wonderfully psychedelic soundscapes driven by Genrich's frazzled guitar work and the Trepte/Neumeier rhythm section's commitment to loud, unconventional grooves. The title track "UFO" emerges as the album's centerpiece—a hypnotic collapse of feedback and noise that recalls the Stooges' rawer moments. "Girl Call" and "Next Time See You at the Dalai" showcase genuine technical prowess without sacrificing the band's chaotic energy, while "Der LSD-Marsch" provides a measured slow-burn finale.
