The TOKYO JAZZ JOINTS project is a critically acclaimed documentary project capturing the unique world of Japanese jazz listening cafes, known as jazz kissa. Join us in-store on Friday December 19th for a truly intimate vinyl listening experience curated by Philip Arneill, creator and photographer of the TOKYO JAZZ JOINTS project, in collaboration with OH JEAN RECORDS.
Philip's seated listening session will celebrate the jazz kissa and bars documented in his bestselling photobook, published in 2023 by Kehrer Verlag and now in fourth edition, with a Japanese edition published in August 2025.
This 1.5hr session features an introduction to the project from Philip, followed by 4 curated selections played on vinyl, which are intimately linked to some of the incredible joints he has photographed.
Due to the nature of the event, the doors will open at 6pm but will close again promptly at 6.30pm in order to create a fully immersive listening
Philip will also sign copies of his Tokyo Jazz Joints book.
