Played toward a glittery mechano-funk momentum, The Man With The Horn would specialize a new and elaborate form of Miles Davis' artistry which marked a return to his more traditional trumpet playing as the new band line-up consisted of saxophonist Bill Evans (no relation to the influential master jazz pianist), guitarist Mike Stern, aspiring bassist Marcus Miller, percussionist Sammy Figuera and session keyboardist Robert Irving III, who greatly contribute their talent to the session’s vitality and original merit.
