Tom Holkenborg spent almost a full year composing the score for the 2019 film, closely analyzing the first two installments and paying tribute to Brad Fiedel's musical contributions. The resulting album features a diverse range of musical styles, incorporating a Latin-inspired twist on the iconic "Terminator" theme, and utilizing a variety of instruments, both acoustic and electronic, as well as incorporating sounds from everyday objects. Holkenborg also incorporated orchestral elements in key emotional scenes, but used them sparingly throughout the film.
