HOIHOI have been making noise together since 2020, honing their sound at Ōtautahi Christchurch and Ōhinehou Lyttelton institutions darkroom, Space Academy and Wunderbar before embarking on their first tour in 2023. HOIHOI is influenced by Aotearoa legends Die!Die!Die! and faraway legends Fugazi and Pixies.

TAHITAHI, meaning SWEEP, is the group's first physical release, a 4-track 7" EP on glorious yellow vinyl, with a zine and poster featuring wisdom from their dear friend Moko. The first 51 feature a unique handwritten message that hopes to help you navigate this spinning world we all find ourselves in.

HOIHOI means be quiet! (and be noisy!) in te reo Māori, with TAHITAHI featuring lyrics in both Māori and English. HOIHOI stands with everyone around the world who is learning & singing in their ancestral language. E tū!
