Description
Sumbisori marks the debut of Temporary Blessings, a Melbourne ensemble led by trumpet player and composer Liam McGorry. Drawing inspiration from 1960s Italian and French soundtrack aesthetics, the album captures film noir, giallo, and library music through live recordings produced by Henry Jenkins. McGorry assembles fellow musicians from Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo, and Saskwatch to realise his cinematic vision—layering emotive strings, robust horns, and a tight rhythm section. A seasoned contributor to Melbourne's soul landscape, McGorry channels decades of experience into this debut, delivering the romance and drama of vintage European film scores filtered through contemporary Melbourne sensibility.
