School Damage

School Damage is a scrappy, punky lo-fi debut blending minimalist post-punk with Flying Nun charm. The band features Carolyn Hawkins (Chook Race) and Jake Robertson (Ausmuteants)—two strong songwriters with contrasting styles. Hawkins delivers candy-sweet melodies on introspective tracks like "Distance," while Robertson brings shouty punk energy to songs like "School Damage Rockers." Their tight guitar-bass-drums-keys setup creates a dynamic sound that balances delicate indie pop with noisy rock moments. A standout addition to contemporary Australian indie.
