Maurice Louca’s album Saet El Hazz (The Luck Hour) blends Arabic music, psychedelic folk, and free improvisation. Inspired by a Lebanese trio and crafted with custom microtonal instruments from Turkey and Indonesia, the album features six movements recorded in Brussels. It captures the spirit of a “luck hour,” a phrase in Egypt meaning a wild, unforgettable time. This work showcases Louca’s innovative approach and rich collaborations with skilled musicians.
