Ripple On The Wing
Ella Thompson's 'Ripple on the Wing' is a 10-track soul album blending 1960s influences with contemporary cinematic arrangements. Featuring members of Surprise Chef and other Melbourne soul artists, the record pairs acoustic and amplified instrumentation—harpsichord, piano, flute, organ, and guitar—with Thompson's vocals exploring themes of empowerment, love, and self-discovery. Co-produced by Thompson, Liam McGorry, and Henry Jenkins, the album was recorded live as a collaborative ensemble and mastered by New York legend Alex De Turk. Each song creates its own narrative space, drawing on poetry and personal experience to craft an intimate, immediate portrait of modern soul.
