Reminicent Suite

Reminiscent Suite is the 19th release in BBE Music's J Jazz Masterclass Series, featuring American pianist Mal Waldron and Japanese trumpeter Terumasa Hino. Originally released in 1973 on Victor Records, this Japan-only album brings together two jazz legends with Tokyo's finest session musicians. The album spans two extended tracks. Side A's title piece, composed by Waldron, showcases his signature early-70s dark, brooding groove. Side B's 'Black Forest', written by Hino, delivers vivid energy with layered percussion and Hino's distinctive trumpet work. The supporting band features saxophonist Takeo Uematsu, drummer Motohiko Hino, and bassist Isao Suzuki—representing the finest of early-1970s Japanese jazz.
