The album Récital De Luth is a rare vinyl recording by Hussein El Masry (often credited as Hussein El Masri), a virtuoso Egyptian musician born in 1952. A graduate of the Institute of Arab Music in Cairo, El Masry moved to Paris in 1977, where he became a prominent figure in the European world music scene. Although "Luth" is the French term for lute, the album features his mastery of the Oud, the traditional fretless lute of the Arab world.
