The official collaboration between Miles Davis and arranger Gil Evans comes to a close on the somewhat brief and weakest "Quiet Nights" LP. Of the original 27 minutes, six are dedicated to a quintet rendition of "Summer Night." The remaining six tracks, including "Once Upon a Summertime" and "Corcovado," are enjoyable but leave one questioning why Evans didn't contribute more material.
