The Rookies, Melbourne's celebrated cult jazz band, present their 3rd LP, Play Jazz 2, a sequel to their acclaimed debut, Play Jazz. This compilation of revitalised jazz standards showcases iconic pieces from Eric Dolphy, Charles Mingus, Ron Carter, and Ornette Coleman, while also including a post-rock version of Juan Tizol's beloved 'Caravan'. As a follow-up to 2019's 'Stay Weird', Play Jazz 2 captures the modernism and avant-garde ingenuity of the 50s and 60s, with fresh interpretations of classic compositions from some of the Rookies' favourite composers.
