Piano Improvisations Vol. 1

Chick Corea's departure from the avant-garde quartet Circle after one year was motivated by his desire to reach a larger audience. As a result, his initial releases after leaving the group were two piano solo albums. Vol. 1 showcases six of his original compositions, including the acclaimed "Where Are You Now?" and the debut of the future standard "Sometime Ago." While some may find these performances to be overly delicate, they effectively bridge the gap between Corea's time in Circle and his return to Return to Forever.
