Tamba Trio (Helcio Milito, Bebeto Castilho and Luiz Eça) debuted in 1962, gaining rapid popularity as one of Brazil's top bossa jazz ensembles. In the mid 60s, they evolved into Tamba 4 and Luiz Eça released his first album as leader. Eça's fusion of jazz, pop, and classical training gave rise to a distinctive bossa sound, characterised by its evolving and eclectic nature.

This rare album's limited distribution and lack of local release in Brazil (or anywhere else) has elevated it to cult status among Brazilian music collectors globally. Titled "La Nueva Onda del Brasil," it features a blend of standards and original compositions, showcasing an innovative mix of lively arrangements and smooth vocal harmonies. Combining the late bossa sound with jazz and afrosamba rhythms, this LP is considered a masterpiece of samba jazz.
