'Motions and Emotions' sees Oscar Peterson veering away from playing solely with the smaller jazz units by adding the lush sounding string orchestra of Claus Ogerman.

The playlist focusses on tracks from films and popular music from the sixties and undoubtedly, there are times when the strings are utilised for maximum impact. This seems to overshadow the work of the regular rhythm set present; Bucky Pizzarelli (guitar), Sam Jones (bass) and Bobby Durham (drums).
