Mikal Cronin's third album has a split theme, with the first side featuring catchy pop songs with piano, strings, and earwormy guitar lines, while the second side tells a coming-of-age story in a more direct and less produced style. The result is his most pleasing record to date, showcasing his growth as a songwriter and producer.
