Hiroki Miyano's artistic journey began in Sapporo where he developed a love for jazz music and collected records of his personal idols, such as John McLaughlin and Django Reinhardt. Hiroki began playing guitar at age 10 and soon performed in Tokyo’s top jazz clubs. In 1981, Swing Journal’s editor introduced him to producer Teo Macero, who helped Hiroki sign with Phillips and record his debut album, "Manhattan Skyline," in New York. The album features collaborations with jazz greats Marcus Miller, Buddy Williams, and Ryo Kawasaki.
