Lost Tape - 1980
Abdou El Omari (1945–2010) was a Moroccan pioneer who blended spiritual jazz, psychedelic funk, and electronic experimentation into a visionary sound. After founding Les Fugitifs and releasing rare records across multiple labels, he withdrew from music in the 1980s. Years after his death, a cardboard box of his personal archives—rescued from the trash—revealed lost treasures: demos, rehearsals, and an almost-forgotten cassette. On this stunning recording, El Omari pushes further than ever, merging pop, cosmic disco, electric blues, and Moroccan tradition through his ARP Odyssey synthesizer and Farfisa. A timeless fusion of deep roots and electronic exploration—music for dancing and dreaming alike.
