Herbs are a New Zealand reggae group founded in 1979, led by singer-guitarist Dilworth Karaka. The band features a multi-ethnic lineup including Samoans, Tongans, Cook Islanders, Māori, and European members. Their second album, 1983's Light Of The Pacific, included the hit "French Letter", which spent 11 weeks on the charts and expressed New Zealand's anti-nuclear stance. Fourteen years later, it was re-recorded to garner support for the prevention of nuclear testing at Mururoa.
