Journey To The Ancient

Rare unreleased recordings from Yusuf Mumin, the cellist and multi-instrumentalist behind Black Unity Trio. Recorded after that landmark group, this album captures a more introspective sound with Mumin on cello, tenor, flute, and alto, layered with bass and percussion from William Holmes. Three extended tracks showcase Mumin's spacious soloing over a spiritual avant-garde trio arrangement. These tapes were rediscovered during a Black Unity Trio reissue project and have never been released before.
