Björk's failed relationship with drum'n'bass kingpin Goldie may have inspired her to shed her more precious aspects, resulting in a display of more emotional depth than ever seen before. Collaborators LFO's Mark Bell, Mark "Spike" Stent, and Post contributor Howie B contribute to this album's emotionally brave and sonically adventurous nature. Combining chilly strings, stuttering beats, and unique elements like accordion and glass harmonica, Homogenic masterfully alternates between dark and uncompromising tracks such as the cool opener "Hunter," and soothing, percolating tracks like "All Neon Like."
