Defected Sessions

Defected Sessions: Mixed by Full Intention & Smokin' Jo is a 2002 house music compilation co-released by Defected Records and Ministry of Sound that serves as a flawless snapshot of the early-2000s UK club scene. The 3LP release is highly regarded by critics and dance music archivists for its brilliant contrast in styles, splitting duties between Full Intention’s upbeat, vocal-heavy disco and funky house on Disc 1, and Smokin' Jo’s deeper, late-night tribal and tech-house grooves on Disc 2. Revered by fans for its creative use of live acapella layering and flawless programming, this rare, out-of-print classic is considered a nostalgic masterclass that perfectly bridges daytime vocal euphoria with dark, rhythm-heavy underground rooms.
