This particular album, according to Double J, was one of our top picks for 2023, ranking at #16 on their Album Of The Year Countdown. With a mid-January release, it served as the perfect soundtrack for our late Australian summer. Its genre may be difficult to define; some might say it falls under alt-country, with hints of Gillian Welch, while others might hear classic rock influences, reminiscent of Chrissie Hynde. Perhaps it could even be considered indie-folk, with a lighter and brighter touch, similar to Jen Choler.

'Brighter Side of Blue' was recorded in Bellambi in the Illawara region throughout 2022, featuring Cecil Coleman from Body Type on drums and Russell Fitzgibbon (who also released Skeleten's 'Under Utopia') on bass and as co-producer. This beautiful, gleaming record shines like the sea in this part of Australia, where the crashing waves meet ancient escarpment.

This exclusive re-issue of “Brighter Side of Blue” is limited to only 300 copies on baby blue heavyweight vinyl, with an individually-numbered obi strip.
