Horatio Luna's second album, recorded across Melbourne studios from 2022 to 2025, marks a warmer, more luminous evolution. Trading darker textures for crystalline synths and funk-driven compositions, Action Reaction explores the interplay between jazz and house, improvisation and composition. Horns feature prominently throughout, with several pieces revisiting earlier material in fresh light. Voicemail fragments from these years surface as sonic threads, capturing a scene in motion. A danceable yet abstract listening experience that reconciles opposing musical forces.
