Originally released in 1966, "Social End Product" by The Bluestars was considered New Zealand's first punk single. After its release by Allied International in September of that year, it quickly gained cult status and is now sought after by collectors worldwide. This 2018 Wild Things reissue is the 26th anniversary collection of gritty, distorted, and chaotic music from New Zealand's underground scene. These Kiwi teens, armed with locally made guitars and amplifiers, created a sound that surpassed the Mod-ish fierceness of The Who and featured heavy influence from The Yardbirds.
