Early Life

Born in Freehold Township, New Jersey, in 1949, he was born William Joseph Springsteen on July 19, 1949. A member of a Catholic family, he grew up in Montclair and studied at Montclair State College.

On October 18, 1981, Bruce married Patti Scialfa, and they recorded the album Nebraska in 1984.
