Good Name

Luaka Bop has dug deep and gotten their hands on Onyeabor's back catalog. Nearly 30 years since the music was made it sounds fresh as ever. It's a confluence of funk and African rhythms punctuated by electronic and traditional instrumentation. "Let's Fall In Love" is an intensely funky cut that rides over a drum machine. Definitely playable for an open minded crowd that just wants to get down. On the flip "Good Name" takes a more cosmic path, but the groove is just as tough. Recommended.
