The Beat Generation, released by BBE, is a 17-track compilation of renowned producers and musical trailblazers. Featuring tracks from Pete Rock, Jay Dee, King Britt, and DJ Jazzy Jeff, the compilation serves as a historical bridge between the hip-hop and Beat generations. With his work "Bengali Paraphrase", Allen Ginsberg encapsulated the plight of modern-day music makers and the war-era Cold War society which considered the Beats and their colorful philosophy a threat. The Beats, however, were a movement of artists, poets, and musicians who championed introspection and openness to alternative topics, defying the mainstream and spurring history to be made anew. The music of The Beat Generation, including Jill Scott's "We Live in Philly" and DJ Jazzy Jeff's "Think Twice", stands as an example of the power of creativity.
