Pianist Kenny Drew steers the session with a flawless balance of blues-infused swagger and dazzling single-note clarity, transforming dramatic standards like an explosive, cascading "Caravan" alongside deeply expressive readings of ballads like Thelonious Monk’s "Ruby, My Dear". From the rhythmic geometry of Drew's originals like "Weird-O" to the effortlessly finger-snapping charm of "Blues for Nica," the record entirely avoids sentimental clichés in favour of raw, straight-ahead modern jazz chemistry. It remains an enduring, foundational classic of the mid-century acoustic piano trio lineage.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0397/2773/files/Kenny_Drew_Trio_-_Kenny_Drew_Trio_Vinyl_LP.jpg?v=1794009163
https://www.ohjeanrecords.com/products/kenny-drew-trio
Oh!
