After 40 years at the forefront of underground music, Montgomery channels his Christchurch surroundings into resounding, aerial pieces that balance beauty with unease. Following his acclaimed 2018 LP Suffuse, Montgomery returns to solo guitar exploration. Highlights include the cinematic space rock of "Cowboy Mouth (For Sam Shepard)" and the ecstatic 15-minute "The Electric Children of Hildegard von Bingen (For Florian Fricke)," where shifting keys and staccato melodies evoke spiritual visions. Though wordless, Island of Lost Souls speaks to communion and isolation—the contradictions we all navigate. A work of wisdom and grit for restless times.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0397/2773/files/Roy_Montgomery_-_Island_Of_Lost_Souls_Vinyl_LP.jpg?v=1790916472
https://www.ohjeanrecords.com/products/island-of-lost-souls
Oh!
